In a recent analysis, local governance expert Amon Kotei has voiced strong concerns regarding the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) swift rollout of the Free Senior High School (SHS) education system in Ghana.

He underscored that, the government’s rapid introduction of the policy lacked adequate forethought regarding its potential implications on the education sector.

In an interview on Kasapa News, he pointed out that while the initiative aimed to increase access to education and reduce financial burdens on families, it was executed without comprehensive planning or consideration of the necessary infrastructure and resources.

He emphasized that such a hasty approach could lead to long-term challenges in the quality of education provided.

However, the lack of a strategic plan in its implementation raises concerns about how well these schools can accommodate the increased number of students and maintain educational standards.
