Vetran Ghanaian coach J. E Sarpong has urged the president of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, to consider someone who has the know-how in sports when appointing a new minister for the sports and recreation ministry.
With many Ghanaians been expectant of the nomination and appointment of the new sports and recreation minister and many hoping for a quick change in the declination of the sports.
Speaking to Solomon Duah on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Coach J. E Sarpong highlighted that it’s about time we consider people who have the technical know how about the field they are been appointed to and offer their knowledge to help manage that space.
” Sports is a technical field, and I urge the president (His Excellency John Dramani Mahama), to appoint someone who is knowledgeable about sports and is humble and willing to listen to advice and suggestions – he said.
He added that anyone who would be appointed should be willing to listen to suggestions and advice, which will help improve sports in Ghana.
The president, however, is expected to name his ministerial nominees by the start of next week after renaming the ministry of youth and sports to sports and recreation last week.
