The Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Godwin Animli Dorgbadzi-Dorani, has expressed deep concern over the hardships his constituents endured during the 24-year tenure of his predecessor, Hon. K.T. Hammond, who also served as the Minister of Trade and Industry.
According to Hon. Dorgbadzi-Dorani, since assuming office, he has been inundated with calls from constituents highlighting pressing challenges in their communities—issues he believes should have been addressed long ago.
“I do not understand why the former MP could not resolve these problems after over two decades in office. The level of underdevelopment is concerning, but I am committed to bringing meaningful change,” he stated.
The MP outlined several major concerns facing Adansi Asokwa, including poor road infrastructure, telecommunications difficulties, and inadequate social amenities. However, he assured constituents that his administration, in collaboration with President John Dramani Mahama, is determined to implement lasting solutions.
“Under our leadership, Adansi Asokwa will finally receive its fair share of national development. The policies and initiatives we have planned will transform the constituency,” he added.
Speaking in an interview with GHOne News’ Yaw Boagyan, Hon. Dorgbadzi-Dorani revealed that Adansi Asokwa will benefit significantly from the 2025 national budget, which he describes as “a budget of hope.” He emphasized that the budget aligns with the NDC’s campaign promises, including the removal of excessive taxes.
“The NDC pledged to scrap burdensome taxes, and we have delivered. Taxes on betting, COVID-19 levies, and emission charges have been abolished. More relief measures and development projects are on the way,” he stated.
He further assured constituents that initiatives such as the establishment of a Women’s Bank and vocational training programs will provide employment opportunities for the youth, thereby addressing the unemployment crisis in the area.
Confident in his leadership, Hon. Dorgbadzi-Dorani declared that his commitment to development has cemented his place as the constituency’s representative.
“I have taken over Adansi Asokwa for good. My dedication and hard work will keep me in this position for a long time,” he asserted.
