Residents near Paebo, a community in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri municipality  have started vacating their places of abode, after they were hit with a tragic dynamite explosion on Wednesday December 23, 2015.

Locals say there was a blast from a quarry site at Paebo, along the Adeiso road, suspected to have occurred as a result of a naked fire getting into contact with ammonium dynamite.

Reports say nearly 20 casualties have been admitted at the Nsawam Government Hospital while several others were also referred to nearby facilities.

“Some have fled their homes, and the scene has also been declared a no go area”, a resident, Dorcas Peggy told Kasapafmonline.com

The devastation caused several injuries while substantial properties have also been lost through the incident Wednesday afternoon.

So far one person has been reported dead.
