One person has been reported dead in the dynamite explosion that occurred Wednesday in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri municipality in the Eastern region.
Reports say nearly 20 casualties have been admitted at the Nsawam Government Hospital while several others were also referred to nearby facilities.
Locals say there was a blast from an old quarry site at Paebo, along the Adeiso road, suspected to have occurred as a result of a naked fire getting into contact with ammonium dynamite.
“Some have fled their homes, and the scene has also been declared a no go area”, a resident, Dorcas Peggy told Kasapafmonline.com
It is also reported that some substantial properties have also been lost through the incident Wednesday afternoon.
