Disqualified aspirant in the Convention People’s Party Presidential race, Onzy Nkrumah has said former chairman of the CPP, Samia Nkrumah, will still lose the contest despite his removal.
“I sincerely don’t think she will win, even if I am not in the race,” he told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM Tuesday.
Dr. Nkrumah was disqualified by executives of the CPP for not complying with the party’s laid down rules.
Onzy from the fall out of his disqualification has accused Samia Nkrumah of masterminding his disqualification from the upcoming contest.
He referred to Samia, her sister as a very divisive element in the Nkrumah family and the CPP fold at large.
“Unfortunately the CPP office is controlled by some wrong people. A lot of people refer to them as the Samia mafia, …..and she doesn’t want to see me stand for flagbearer because she’s contesting. So they are trying to discredit me and snipe at me.
“She’s a problem to herself, because I think Ghanaians discovered her personality. When you’re a divisive figure in your family, party, and your constituency, you cannot hide it so I don’t need to publicize that, let the facts speak for themselves. By their fruits you shall know them.”
According to Onzy, the CPP in its current form is unfit for purpose, and will need austere measures to bring it back on track.
