Ghana kicked off her 2017 AFCON Qualifiers in style on Sunday with a 7:1 trashing of Mauritius at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Jordan Ayew gave two assists while managing to score another in the process in the first half of a game that was largely one-way.

Ghana went ahead with three goals when the game had barely traveled the half hour mark. Bournemouth player Christian Atsu gave Ghana an early lead in the 10th minute. Ayew scored a second in the 16th, and provided one of his all-afternoon-sweet crosses to Gyan to tap it home in the 22nd minute for a Ghana third. Gyan would make it a personal second and Ghana’s fourth in the 29th minute.

Gyan’s two goals took him to some 48 goals in 92 games – the highest for any Black Stars player.

The Mauritians pulled one back in the 31st minute.
