The sacked Acting Director of the Information Services Department, Francis Kwarteng Arthur, has thanked President Mahama for the opportunity offered him to serve.

A statement signed in Accra by Communications Minister, Edward Omane Boamah, said Kwarteng has been relieved of his duties at the state-owned outfit, which has been in the news all week.

The sack comes few days after the ISD got embroiled in a messy controversy surrounding the publication of the brochure used for Ghana’s 59th Independence Anniversary celebrations.

However in a Facebook post, Kwarteng says he is appreciative of the opportunity given him by the President and is thankful to the many that stood by him after the brochure gaffe.

“I thank H E John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve him as the Acting Director of Information Services Department. Thank all who stood by me in my most trying moment. I take full responsibility. God bless our Homeland Ghana. I bow” he wrote.
