The sprinter Sean Safo-Antwi has been cleared to switch allegiance from Britain and compete for Ghana with immediate effect, British Athletics has announced.

The 25-year-old, who won the 60 metres at the Glasgow Indoor Grand Prix last month before finishing third at the British Championships, has been granted a transfer of allegiance.

Safo-Antwi asked the International Association of Athletics Federations in January for permission to change allegiance and the transfer was unopposed by Great Britain.

Meanwhile, the long jumper Jazmin Sawyers has been added to the British team for the upcoming World Indoor Championships in Portland. – Guardian
