Naa Teidey Ofori, Miss Tourism Ghana 2014/2015, has donated assorted items to the Porters Orphanage at Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region.

The items include 10 cartons of Indomie noodles, stationery, cowbell and ONGA products, 10 bags of mineral water, a bail of second hand clothing, soft drinks, biscuits and detergents.

Presenting the items, Naa Ofori who is also the President of Nate Foundation said the major focus of her organisation is to impact children positively so that they could become responsible adults, hence the donation to mark her first charity work.

She advised the inmates to study hard and be obedient to their teachers to encourage them mould their lives to become responsible citizens.

Receiving the items, Dr Mrs Jane Irina Adu, Founder and President of the Village, said she has been overwhelmed and humbled by the donation.

She expressed gratitude to the Nate Foundation and urged other organisations and individuals to emulate the shining example to help promote a good cause, adding: “These children could be great persons in future.”

Dr Mrs Adu said some of the children are being sponsored currently at the senior secondary school level to pursue various programmes whilst others are at the junior high school.

The foundation was started in 2000 with six children but currently accommodates about 125 inmates.
