The Western Regional Police Command has arrested one John Okpa Wilson, a businessman, for allegedly issuing false cheque.

Wilson has since been charged for defrauding by false pretences.

The complainant, Henry Odom, who is a resident of Nii Boi Town in the Greater Accra Region, lodged a report with the police some four months ago indicating that the suspect had deceived him to pay an amount of GHc10, 000. 00 into his  account in order to purchase a Nissan Micra Saloon car for him.

Wilson he told the Police, failed to purchase the vehicle and refused to return his money either.

Wilson subsequently issued a cheque dated April 28, 2015, which was later proven to be false when Odom turned up at the bank to redraw, leading to the former’s arrest.
