Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), His Excellency Yu Zhengsheng, has arrived in Ghana.

He was met on arrival, Saturday, at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho who was accompanied by the First Deputy Speaker, Ebo Barton-Odro.China 2

The Chinese leader will be in the country from April 16 to 19, 2016.

It is the first time the Chairman of the CCPPCC is visiting Ghana.

The former British Colony is his third having earlier visited Gabon and La Cote d’Ivoire.

Chairman Zhengsheng is expected to deepen the bilateral and cultural relations between the two countries. He will also tour some China/Ghana partnership projects to have first hand information on those projects and to also ascertain how they are impacting positively on the society.

Late in the afternoon, the Chinese leader visited the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) Hospital where he was briefed about the health delivery situation in Ghana.

The facility was built by the Chinese under a joint venture agreement Ghana and the Asian country five years ago.

The 110 bed hospital facility currently has 9 Chinese volunteers assisting their Ghanaian counterparts to deliver quality health care to the citizenry.

Madam Juliana Ameh, Medical Superintendent of the facility told Kasapafmonline.com that the hospital has been of immense help to the people in the Municipality and surrounding communities.
