Displaced residents in parts of the demolished Old Fadama, popularly known as Sodom & Gomorrah, say they are going to reciprocate the gesture in a bitter manner by voting out the ruling government.

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) they’ve told Kasapa FM will bear the brunt when the 2016 general elections are held.

The aggrieved residents Monday took to the streets to protest against city authorities for demolishing hundreds of structures belonging to them – ostensibly to free the area – which continues to be the city’s environmental challenge.

Some of the aggrieved residents displayed placards with the inscription “No Vote for NDC in 2016″, No Vote for JM in Northern Region come 2016, and No More Vote.”

Others bore the inscription “JM you are a disappointment to Us, “Woyome Money”, and “Oko Vanderpuije is Wicked”,

The protesters numbering hundreds Monday overpowered some policemen who were detailed to manage them and headed towards the State House, where they’ve since done damage to some properties.

They decline an order from the Police to vacate the premises of the State. Some had carried their mats along to the demonstration, indicating their readiness to go the full haul.
