Affected Sodom & Gomorrah residents affected by last Saturday’s demolishing exercise have taken the law into their own hands and destroyed some state properties in protest.

Some Scania vehicles parked at the premises of the State House and yet to be distributed for the much talked about Bus Rapid Transport System have been destroyed with some flower pots at the main entrance of Parliament House also suffering same.

The Coat of Arms at the entrance of the State House has also been peeled off by the angry residents who claim that a resident of the shanty town was killed in the demolition exercise.

The displaced residents had earlier cautioned that they were going to reciprocate the gesture in a bitter manner by voting out the ruling government.

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) they’ve told Kasapa FM will bear the brunt when the 2016 general elections are held.

The aggrieved residents Monday took to the streets to protest against city authorities for demolishing hundreds of structures belonging to them – ostensibly to free the area – which continues to be the city’s environmental challenge of giant proportions.

Some of the aggrieved residents displayed placards with the inscription “No Vote for NDC in 2016″, No Vote for JM in Northern Region come 2016, and No More Vote.”

Others bore the inscription “JM you are a disappointment to Us, “Woyome Money”, and “Oko Vanderpuije is Wicked”,

They declined an order from the Police to vacate the premises of the State. Some had carried their mats along to the demonstration, indicating their readiness to go the full haul.
