The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lauded Mrs. Charlotte Osei for her appointment as the new Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
However, it said more is expected of her as she starts a journey that would ultimately shape Ghana’s democratic growth.
“We hope she will contribute immensely to the development of our democratic dispensation and its growth, by helping to resolve the many challenges she is inheriting from Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan, her predecessor,” a statement released by the party Friday and signed by its National Chairman, Paul Afoko, in part read.
The opposition Party says Mrs. Osei’s appointment has come at a time when the whole nation is expectant of an electoral system that is widely accepted by all stakeholders and prayed that “she lives up to the high expectation of all Ghanaians.”
