An Accra Financial and Tax Court presided over by Justice Afia Serwaa Asare Botwe has sentenced former GREDA boss Alexander Tweneboah to 2 years imprisonment.

He has also been fined 2000 penalty units after he was found guilty on all three counts of operating telecommunication services without a license, Possession of communication devices without lawful authority and interfering with the sending and transmission of communications signals.

Dr. Tweneboah pleaded not guilty throughout the trial. He was arrested by the Police for engaging in Sim box fraud.

He, together with five others were arrested by a joint task force which included the National Communications Authority (NCA), and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on January 15.

The task force seized one Sim box with a 64-slot Sim server, 4G Internet modem, 1 laptop computer and mini antennas from a residence at Batsona, Manet area.
