The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary nominee for the Ningo Prampram Constituency, Sam George says the New Patriotic Party Campaign Manager for the 2016 elections was forced to make unorthodox pronouncement in the upcoming elections because he needed to satisfy the violent disposition of his flagbearer.

“If you are mild, temperate of the national unity that we so espouse in this country, you cannot work with Mr. Akufo- Addo. The NPP Flagbearer is looking for militants…and this is the party he represents and so you don’t expect Mr. Peter Mac Manu to say anything other than that,” Sam George said on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji Saturday.

His comment comes after media reports cited an alleged claim by Peter Mac Manu saying that the NPP would defy authority in the country, including the Electoral Commission (EC), to declare its own election results.

The Campaign Manager of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), following the backlash on his alleged claim has clarified that his party rather intends to collate a parallel results that will be run side by side with the EC’s own for the purpose of clarity and accuracy.

But Sam George said he’s not too worried of the claims by the Campaign Manager of the largest opposition since Mac Manu must show he’s militant enough to lead what he said is a violent political party that he belongs to.

“You must not be too worried or taken aback by Mr. peter Mac Manu’s comment.  He needs to show that he’s militant enough. If you’ve read the book by the communications Director of the 2008 Nana Addo’s campaign- Chasing the elephant into the bush by Dr. Arthur Kennedy, he said one of the biggest accusations he faced from Nana Addo himself and his accolades around him was the mere fact that he wasn’t militant enough. And so Mac Manu needs to satisfy the violent disposition and hunger of the Flagbearer,” he stated.

He however said the security must not take such comments for granted and hence must be alert to stop the violent plans of the NPP  in the run-up to the 2016 elections.
