Rev. Dr. Anyani Boadum of the Jesus Generation Church is appealing to Parliament to immediately come out and state its position on homosexuality and gayism which was recently made legal across the United States..

The Supreme Court of the United States of America last Friday in a 5-4 majority decision ruled that the Constitution guarantees a nationwide right to same sex marriage.

The decision, the culmination of decades of litigation and activism, came against the backdrop of fast moving changes in public opinion, with polls indicating that most Americans now approve of same-sex marriage, according to the New York Times.

Last week, adultery was legalized in South Africa by the Constitutional Court with Germany’s National Ethics Council also calling for an end to the criminalization of incest between siblings after examining the case of a man who had four children with his sister.

A Japanese Court had earlier in the month of June, 2015, also ruled that Adultery is Okay if it’s for business purpose.

But Rev. Dr. Boanum though admits such practices exist in Ghana, he believes that a pronouncement by the country’s legislature on the matter would halt it from further spreading and save future generations.

“It is about time we let our children know that homosexuality and gayism are bad practices because of its enormous health implications on the body. Morally and spiritually, there are implications,” he noted in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 Tuesday.

He argues that with a major decision being made by the US Supreme Court, it would be prudent for Parliament as representatives of the people to also make a pronouncement for the nation to know its stance just as it did in the Blakk Rasta ‘wee’ comments.

Should Parliament still maintain its silent posture on the matter, he said there would be the need for the various religious bodies to come together and serve the legislature with a Certificate of Emergency to compel them to speak to the issue at stake.

“We need to go to Parliament under a Certificate of Emergency for them to tell us their position just as they did with Blakk Rasta over his ‘wee’ comments. I think the interfaith community that is Islam, Christianity, Judaism and other religious bodies in this country can come together in that regard.”

He urged the general public to re-examine the issue critically noting that “if we have the power, we should let it be known by stating our position on the matter.”

He added “before you remove any barrier you must first ask yourself why that barrier was put there in the first place.”
