Incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North Constituency, Collins Owusu Amankwa, has won the mandate of the delegates to represent the party in the November Parliamentary elections.

Amankwa after Saturday’s competitive contest polled 185 votes to beat the heavily favoured candidate, Akwasi Kunadu and Nana Osei Banfo to represent the party a second time.

Akwasi Kunadu and Nana Osei Banfo garnered 171 and 129 votes respectively out of the total 489 votes cast.

Four (4) votes were rejected with six delegates also failing to turn up.

Collins Amankwa’s win brings to an end the protracted conflict that led to the series of postponement of the constituency’s primary.
