A group calling itself the Concerned  Mamprugu Caucus of the NDC in the Walewale constituency have expressed worry that the President has refused to field any Mamprugu native in his government.

The group contends that for fair representation, and for the fact that the constituency has remained loyal to the ruling government, the Mahama-led administration can reciprocate the gesture by alloting some key positions in government to their ‘sons’.

The group has asked President Mahama to consider offering one King James Azortibah a Ministerial appointment.

Azortibah was a parliamentary candidate for the Walewale constituency in the 2012 general elections.

A statement issued and signed by Mr Samuel Amadu Wuni Moadow , a leading member of the caucus said after the defeat of Mr Azortibah in the 2012 general elections,  NDC members had defied pressure to join NPP because ‘Mamprugus still believed in the democratic principles of the NDC party’.

A ministerial appointment for the aspirant could be a morale booster, they add.

‘”If pragmatic steps are not employed by fixing Mr Azortibah more seats will be lost in the upcoming 2016 general elections”
