The governing National Democratic Congress(NDC) is today August 14,2016 scheduled to hold a launch of its campaign for the 2016 elections at the new Cape Coast stadium.
President John Dramani Mahama is expected to launch the campaign which will be followed by the introduction of the parliamentary candidates to the party supporters.
The programme will kickstart Sunday morning with a Church service at the Methodist Church where the rank and file of the party are expected to attend.
The venue was put in shape Saturday evening for the big event, while the principal streets of Cape Coast has been decorated with NDC colours.
Security men including the Police, soldiers as well as the party security will collaborate to boost security for the event.
All security installations have been mounted at vantage points across the length and breadth of the Central regional capital and the perimeters of the venue.
Party leaders say the big event will mark the beginning of an earnest campaign to sit the opposition outside government for the NDC’s second term in office in another polls slated for December 7.
