Running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2016 election, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has described President John Mahama as an incompetent driver who is steering Ghana into a ditch.
According to him, the only way Ghana (vehicle) which is being driven by President Mahama will not be plunged further into an abyss is for the President to be voted out of power come December 7 poll.
The three-time running mate who is currently on a tour of the Central Region made the comments while addressing NPP supporters at a mini rally at Breman-Bedum in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa.
He noted that a Nana Akufo Addo presidency from January 2017, will ensure that Ghana is brought back onto the right course of development.
“When I first said the Mahama government is incompetent, President Mahama was furious and told me that I’ve never been a president before so I can’t call his government incompetent. Have you ever heard this before?…that when you are in a bus and the driver is not good you can’t say it. That is why we are saying President Mahama is unable to drive Ghana’s vehicle well, he an incompetent driver. On December 7, we’ll let him step down so that Nana Akufo Addo will take over the steering wheel and drive the vehicle well.”
