Managing Editor of the Punch Newspaper, Ato Sam aka Baby Ansaba has alleged that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party supported the Peoples National Convention (PNC) financially in Tuesday’s by-election in Talensi.

According to him this is not the first time the NDC has given such financial backing to the PNC in elections and that explains why some of its national executives drift towards the NDC.

The Peoples National Convention (PNC) candidate in the Talensi by-election Dr Wombeago who performed creditably garnered 6,836 almost neck to neck with the NPP’s Thomas Duanab who polled 6,845.

The PNC cried foul at the end of the election claiming that it had been cheated when the EC declined their request for a recount of their votes. They have threatened to proceed to court over the issue.

Speaking on Kasapa 102.3 FM’s afternoon political show Si mi so Friday, Baba Ansaba stressed that the assistance the PNC got from the NDC in Talensi will not be the last, especially as we approach a major election in 2016.

“I tell you, the PNC has over the years received monetary support from the NDC, Bernard Mornah knows this so I was surprised when I heard him attacking the NDC for allegedly influencing the electorates. The PNC will not receive help anymore should he continue this way”.

He was certain that the PNC Parliamentary Candidate himself knew that he had support from the NDC.

“If you are a candidate and your war chest for an election suddenly improves tremendously you must investigate and know the source”.
