The wife of New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has donated items to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital following the recent crisis the institution has been confronted with.
“I watched in shock and disbelief the heart wrenching images from the Accra Psychiatric Hospital. The patients there regardless of their mental health need good care. Kindly give whatever you have in kind or in cash to assist the doctors and nurses there to effectively carry out their duties.” She disclosed on her Facebook Timeline.
The items donated included big bags of rice, one bag of sugar, boxes of indomie, Toiletries and detergents, gallon of cooking oil, 5 cartons of milo, 2 boxes of tooth paste and cartons of drinks.
Few days ago the nurses complain they are reeling under unsafe working conditions over non availability of drugs for mentally deranged patients coupled with inadequate logistics and hospital consumables.
