The Leader of the International God’s Way Church (IGWC), Bishop Daniel Obinim has dismissed reports in some media suggesting that he[Obinim] predicted victory for the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) Flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“Predicting outcome of elections is not my calling. I have not made any such predictions publicly whether on the pulpit or any platform, that God has revealed it to me the outcome of the December polls. Whoever made such claims is false,” Obinim told Kasapa 102.5 FM Friday.

Bishop Daniel Obinim, has predicted that the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would win the 2016 general elections if the polls are organised in a free and fair manner.

His position on the major polls set for December 7, is linked to a video circulating on social media being footage of one of his Church services.

Bishop Obinim quizzed in the said video that in the spiritual realm; “the New Patriotic Party is 100% while the National Democratic Congress is 60%. So, if we are going to vote freely and fairly and the EC will be truthful who do you think will win?” the man of God asked rhetorically.

Commenting on the development on Anopa Kasapa in an interview with host Fiifi Banson, the controversial man of God popularly known as Angel Obinim said he only made a hypothetical statement relating to the growing numerical strength of the major opposition NPP in the country, and not necessarily predicting a win for the NPP in the upcoming elections.

“I was telling the congregation of a revelation that I had a year ago pointing to the fact that the NPP is gaining root in Ghana now because in the spiritual realm they are more in numbers than NDC. So I showed them a classical example right in the Church by calling out all NDC members to stand on their feet. When I counted them, they were 44 out of the over 5000 members of my church. And I asked NPP members to also stand, and it confirmed it all.

“That was what God revealed to me a year ago and periodically I’ve been reviewing it and still the NPP out numbers the NDC and so what I said was that all things being equal, if the situation remains unchanged and it is reflecting more in the physical as we approach this elections, then, NPP is more likely to win the elections. However, in my speech I strategically used the word “but” to indicate that things can also change. I was quick to add that, the human mind can change at any given time. I said this on Wednesday but if things will change for the tables to turn for NDC then God will have to reveal that one too to me. It is also important to acknowledge that the EC could also rig elections to favour the NDC, or better still something could even happen to the candidates to change the outcome of the elections. So in essence that is what happened. I want to state emphatically that I have not said point blank that the NPP is winning the elections.”
