Embattled Businessman, Alfred Woyome has rejected claims by former Attorney General, Martin Amidu challenging that a recent transaction that saw the payment of  GHc4 million to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), as part payment of the controversial GHc51 million judgment debt, was cooked up and fake.

There are reports that Mr. Woyome has returned GHc4 million out of the GHc51 million paid him as judgment debt.

But Mr.  Amidu in a latest reaction to the development said that “the whole scheme appears to have been cooked to defeat my application for leave to examine Woyome orally on oath.”

At a Press conference held in Accra, by Mr Woyome Friday, November 18, 2016, he debunked the fresh allegations brought up by Citizen Vigilante, Amidu, adding that the transaction was genuine.

“The cheque that I wrote to the AG is a genuine one and that Cheque has cleared. Anybody who wants to know have means to know whether the cheque has been cleared. It’s not fake. the number of people who are ready to help me pay this money are too many; A number of people and they are angry.” Woyome said.

He said eventhough justice has been denied him in this case, he’s ready to pay back the money in a structured payment plan.

“The Justices of the Supreme court. If they erred they have erred. But they erred because they have been misled. And I will insist and impress on it until justice is done. this judgment will be used on anybody because it is a precedent and it must not happen,” he said.

Amidu, has been permitted by the Supreme Court to orally examine Mr. Woyome on his repayment plan by November 24.
