Nii Noi Nortey, Independent parliamentary candidate at the Klottey Korle constituency says he remains upbeat of his victory in the parliamentary contest.

Although political watchers have predicted the race to go in favour of Zanetor Rawlings, the daughter of former Ghanaian leader, Jerry John Rawlings, Nii Noi still believes he stands a greater chance of stealing victory from Rawlings in the crucial polls.

“With God everything is possible,” enthusiastic Nortey told EIB Election Hub after casting his ballot Wednesday at the Klottey Korle constituency.

The former NPP constituency chairman, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey contested as an independent candidate after he lost the bid to stand on the ticket of the NPP in a controversial primary.

He had earlier emerged victories in the primary but a court decision over what party members termed a botched election compelled the national executives to re-run the polls.

Philip Addison who lost the previous election prevailed but Nii Noi felt he was treated unfairly in the contest he was heavily tipped to emerge victorious.
