Incumbent Member of Parliament Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem (KEEA) in the Central Region, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has lost his seat to the brother of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

Dr. Arthur who was bidding to represent his people in Parliament for a second time polled a paltry 15,960 votes to surrender the seat to Mr. Samuel Atta Mills, who stood on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

A third candidate, John Sterling, who represented the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) surprisingly, polled 18,860 votes, thus 2,900 votes more than what the incumbent polled.

The presidential candidate of the PPP, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has served notice of challenging the outcome of the parliamentary poll at the law court, believing that it was their candidate, Sterling, who won the contest.

Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, a former Central Regional Minister, Kasapafmonline.com understands, has conceded defeat.
