The Electoral Commission(EC) has so far received results of about 210 constituencies out of the 275 and awaiting to be certified in few hours, the Election Management Body(EMB) has announced.

Addressing a Press Conference on Friday, the Chairperson of the commission, Charlotte Osei said the EC is working earnestly to ensure the next President is declared quickly without any delay.

“The reps at the national Collation Centre are currently going through it and are tabulating the  results. we are hoping that thereafter it will be certified by the reps and then it will be signed by myself in my capacity as the  returning officer of the Presidential elections.” she told the media shortly.

The outcome of the polls in Ghana is taking shape as many online news portals have already called the elections for the New Patriotic Party(NPP) candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Nana Addo’s total votes garnered nationwide give him a statistical advantage ahead of main rival and incumbent President John Mahama. Mr. Akufo-Addo’s New Patriotic Party are also likely to get a Parliamentary majority.
