The Dunkwa District Magistrate court in the central region presided over by His Honour Faetus Fovi Nukuku has remanded into police custody the gentleman at the centre of the murder case that occurred last Friday at the Dunkwa-on-offin market.
A known supporter of the New Patriotic Party in the area Alhassan Agamati also known as ‘ Atta’ is accused of murdering an NDC supporter Ayuba Akakpo also known as “Ayoma” by hitting his head with a stick following a fierce argument concerning the outcome of the just ended general elections.
Police in Dunkwa sought an interim application at the District Magistrate court today to remand him into police custody so as to have more time to conclude their investigations into the matter before heading to the high court for the murder case proper to begin.
It must be stated that the police have already preferred a charge of murder against the accused who handed himself to the police after allegedly hitting the head of the deceased with a stick last Friday.
