Victims of the demolishing exercise carried out by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) at Santase have vowed to resist any move by politician cum businessman Akwasi Addai Odike to take over their lands.

A demolishing exercise Thursday morning saw several structures being destroyed leaving occupants of the land distressed.

The victims have accused the founder of the United Progressive Party of being behind the exercise because he once claimed ownership of the land.

Chairman of the victims, Godwin Nimo in an interview with Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo stated that they will arm themselves in anticipation if AKwasi Addai Odike tries to fence the demolished place to start his project.

“The police came here with guns, we were quite because we had no guns but the next time they will come here, they will come and meet us holding guns and other weapons to protect the land,” he said.

Over 5000 stores and properties have been destroyed after the demolition exercise.
