The Leader of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Dr Edward Mahama has dismissed the party’s Deputy General Secretary, Mohammed Haruna effective January 24, 2017.
He’s been sacked for reporting the party’s National Treasurer, Akane Adams to the police as having stolen money without recourse to the party leadership, an action which Dr Mahama claims embarrased him as the Leader, the National Executive Committee and entire PNC family.
A letter signed by Dr Edward Mahama dated 24th January, said “you have alleged that I, the leader has transfered party cash to buy Treasury Bills, a story which appeared in the New Crusading Guide Newspaper dated 24th January 2017. This claim is baseless and mischievously calculated to damage my reputation built over several years of selflessness and sacrifice to the PNC.
It added:”It is worth noting that as per the standing Orders of the party, no individual executive can transfer party cash without a counter signature of either the leader, Chairman, General Secretary or National Treasurer.”
