The Senior National Team, Black Stars secured a place in the Semi Finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations at Gabon by beating their Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) opponents by 2:1 on Sunday.
Striker Jordan Ayew opened the score with a classic finish during the second half of the game but the lead lasted only 7 minutes as the resilient DR Congo side, equalized with a blistering strike at a time the Black stars took their eyes off the ball.
But on the 76th minute, thanks to a foul on Christian Atsu in the 16 yard box, Captain for the day, Dede Ayew scored a penalty kick to put the Black Stars back in the lead till the end of the match.
The Black Stars will meet Cameroon on Thursday.
