The immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshall Samson Oje paid a courtesy call on President Akufo Addo at the Jubilee House on Thursday, February 9, 2016 to formally inform him of his retirement.
He was appointed CDS by Former President, John Dramani Mahama in 2016. Before then, he served as the Chief of Air Staff and was responsible for flying the presidential jet.
He thanked the President Akufo Addo for allowing him serve as the Chief of Defence Staff for a short time and also giving him the opportunity to fly him around.
Air Marshall Samson Oje assured the President of very capable officers and men of the Ghana Armed Forces who are ready to defend the country at the peril of their lives.
President Akufo Addo on his part commended Air Marshall Samson Oje for his over forty years of dedicated service rendered to the country and wished him well and his future endeavours.
