The Ghana Football Association(GFA) has dismissed reports suggesting that Former Black Stars captain and coach James Kwesi Appiah has been appointed to manage the Black Stars.

Communications Director of the FA, Ibrahim Sani Daara, said there is nothing of the sort in the works, asking the public to disregard the misleading stories making rounds.

He intimated that any such appointment would be announced by the FA, if the search is complete.

“The report is totally out of place. We just finished receiving applications on Friday. The committee has not even sat to consider the applications yet these reports come out. So we should ignore these reports and focus on the committee delivering its work. And when the committee has done its work, it would file a report to the executive committee, who will then take it from there. And if there is any appointment to be made, it would be made through the Ghana Football Association and announced by the FA. No third parties.” he said in media interviews.

Appiah , according to sources, has been convinced to apply for the job, which he did last week.

He among other applicants are set to meet the Ghana FA’s interviewing panel in the coming weeks.

Kwesi Appiah is popular and the most competent indigenous coach readily available.
