Lawyer for the victim of the Marwako Assault, Francis Xavier Sosu says he intends to file a civil suit against Marwako Fast Food in the interest of bringing justice to his client.
He told Journalist after Thursday’s sitting that the ordeal of the victim, Evelyn Boakye suffered in the hands of the abusive supervisor is a violation of her rights to personal dignity under Article 15 of the 1992 constitution.
“Clearly we take the view that this is a very serious violation of the victim’s rights. So while we put our team together and look at the possibility of taking a civil action and a Human Right action against Marwako Fast Food, it is important that we’ll join the trial. We are doing this on express instruction by the victim and the Family who wants us to assist her to make sure that they get justice in this matter.”
The family of the 25 year old lady, Evelyn Boakye who suffered the abuse of her boss earlier told Kasapa 102.5 FM that they will fight in court the maltreatment unleashed on the young lady.
They insist on their right to justice saying they will by all means use the legal system to fight the terrible treatment meted out to the victim by the abusive supervisor.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Supervisor of the Abelenkpe branch of Marwako restaurant, Jihad Chaaban, who allegedly dipped the face of the Ghanaian worker, Evelyn Boakye, in hot blended pepper on Wednesday, March, 8, 2017 has been granted bail in the sum of Gh¢20,000.
Chaaban, as part of his bail conditions, is expected to report at the Tesano district police station every Tuesday and Friday.
Presiding judge, Victoria Ghansah adjourned the case to March 20, 2017, to allow the victim, Evelyn Aboagye to be cross-examined.
Boakye, the lady at the centre of the assault case was in court today to narrate her ordeal.
