The Ashanti Regional Communication team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) days ago announced a boycott of Radio/TV activities on all relevant platforms in the region.
According to them, the party had neglected them shortly after the elections, notwithstanding their contributions to the party’s success at the polls.
‘This decision has been necessitated by the gross disrespect and disregard of our contributions and sacrifices for the party by the party leadership, both National and Regional, including our regional communication leadership headed by Dr. Kwesi Kyei and our secretary, Moro Kabore, they said in a statement.
But the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Sam Pyne said the party is in touch with the aggrieved members and has resolved the matter.
“…They’ve started doing what they are supposed to do… We’ve been speaking to them and as I speak with you we’ve scheduled a meeting with them tomorrow, the regional hierarchy of the party and all of the elders of the party to resolve these matters.”
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo is expected to begin a three day Thank You tour of the Ashanti Region tomorrow.
On his final leg of the tour, the President is expected to address a rally of party faithfuls on Sunday before returning to Accra.
