Unidentified bodies from the June 3 disaster are exempted from the imminent mass burial to be carried out by end of August, according to Officials of the Ghana Police Hospital.

Speaking to Kasapa FM’s Maame Broni, the Acting Public Relations Officer of the hospital Corporal Faustina Nunekpenu said the police administration is currently in talks with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly for a possible land release to carry out this exercise.

She explained that, unidentified bodies that are given mass burial are those that have been left at the hospitals morgue for a period of 8 to 12 months and as such bodies of the June 3 disaster do not qualify.

Corporal Nunekpenu further explained that, her outfit collected 70 bodies from the June 3rd disaster with 9 still at the morgue unidentified.

She further pleaded with Ghanaians to visit the police hospital and identify the bodies for collection.

Corporal Faustina Nunekpenu said the embalming and post mortem processes carried on the bodies cost a lot, and for which reason the families are to pay something little to help in the execution.
