A group known as the Concern Youth of Ejisu New Patriotic Party (NPP) is demanding justice for NPP coordinator of Kokobra polling station in the Ejisu Constituency Osei Kwaku who was kidnapped by six (6) ‘machomen’.

On December 12,17 Osei Kwaku was kidnapped by some armed machomen and some top officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency including the brother of the Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency while performing official party duties at Kokobra.

Communication Director of the Concern Youth of Ejisu, Sefa Acheamfour speaking in an interview with Abusua Fm’s Osei kwadwo said it is imperative that all relevant stakeholders come together to ensure that the right thing is done especially in Ejisu Constituency where some have shown deliberate intentions to sabotage the democratic principle in the party.

According to Sefa, justice for Osei Kwaku is necessary and it shouldn’t delay.

“What is happening in Ejisu constituency is disheartening. We would like to call on the Regional and National executives, Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah and all stakeholders of the party to act in bringing peace to the constituency as far us the next elections is concerned. There must be fair play and neutrality to all those who are concerned about the elections” he said.
But the Ejisu constituency executives last week jumped to the defence of two party executives who were arrested by the police for allegedly kidnapping Mr Osei Kweku.

The two are said to have kidnapped Mr Osei Kweku following a disagreement over a registration exercise.

The Ejisu constituency in a statement described the report as false, urging the public to treat it with the contempt that it deserves.

“The facts are inconsistent with the kidnap tale we’re being told and the accusations against two officers of our party. It is part of an evil political plot by people known to be doing everything to replace the sitting MP, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi with John Kumah, Chief Executive Officer of National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan. Why will anybody want abduct Mr Osei Kweku, what is the motivation and for what purpose. We simply don’t get it.

“The man playing victim had rather assaulted and seized the party’s register compiled by one of its agents. He fled when he was accosted and returned the document, we do not have anything against people contesting any political office they qualify to hold. But we have everything against mischief, bad political conduct, anything toxic, tasteless and not noble. Those seeking elective positions must demonstrate high level of honesty and move away from childish pranks that tend to create needless tension and distraction in the party.” Excerpts of the statement read.
