Police in Kumasi are on the heels of a student at Kumasi Secondary Technical School (KSTS) who stabbed a police officer after he (student) failed to shoot and kill him on Monday.
The student sunk the knife into the Police officer during a raid on wee smokers on the school compound.
The assemblyman of the area Kwasi Appiah had requested for police presence in the school after realizing that some students have been smoking behind the school wall.
The Police officer who had been assigned to the area, after spotting some students heading for their smoking base decided to accost them.
Upon reaching them, a student pulled out a gun and fired at the policeman but he missed the target. He then pulled a knife and stabbed the police officer leaving him in a pool of blood, while he (student) fled.
An alarm was raised and the policeman was attended to and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Police have assured to arrest the suspect and arraign him before court.
