Ghanaian Maritime officials have announced the rescue of a Ghanaian fishing vessel hijacked by some unidentified persons suspected to be pirates.

The vessel had been held within Togolese territorial waters since Monday.

Collaboration between Maritime officials in Ghana and Togo resulted to the vessel’s rescue.

Deputy Director of Environment, Safety Standards at the Ghana Maritime Authority, Capt. Inusah Abdul Nasir in an interview confirmed that the vessel has returned to the Tema Port.
