Presidential Staffer, Stan Dogbey

Pollster and Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Ben Ephson has urged President John Mahama to advise himself over the conduct of Presidential Staffer, Stan Dogbey.

According to him, Stan Dogbey who is also the head of the Communications Bureau at the Presidency, penchant for unnecessary show and abuse of power, if not check will impact negatively on the government.

Stan Dogbey reportedly seized and crushed a recorder belonging to a journalist working with the state Broadcaster Uniiq FM when the reporter on assignment visited the 37 Military Hospital, at a time that victims of the accident involving members of the Presidential Press Corp had been rushed to the health facility.

The Media Foundation for West Africa in a statement has called on President John Mahama to sack him due to his behaiour.

Stan Dogbey is also the same person who leaked details of the condition of service doctors were demanding from government during their three week strike. An action that got the doctors peeved, which also received huge condemnation from the public.

Speaking to Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM, Mr Ben Ephson condemned the action taken by Stan Dobgey saying it lacked sense, was totally unnecessary and avoidable.

He noted it was about time the President took action on Stan Dogbey since his public conduct tends to always give the seat of government negative publicity, which he contends is not a good image for the highest office of the land.

“Stan is my friend, but I think the arrogance is too much. He publicly insults people including a prominent chief like Togbega Gabuso, Paramount Chief of the Bui Traditional area and nothing is said or done to him. I know no President will like to be stampeded to sack his staffer, but I think the President must advise himself and take a decision on Stan. If you think a journalist has recorded you, you can seize the recorder and have the recording deleted, but not to hit it on the ground and destroy it as he did”.
