EIB Network in collaboration the John Agyekum Kufuor Foundation on Saturday, June 16, 2018 embarked on a health walk as part of activities to raise an endowment fund of Ghc80 million to sustain the foundation’s program.

Participants that took part in the exercise were politicians, radio/television personalities, sports personalities, musicians, actors and several keep fit groups.

Amongst these personalities were EIB Network CEO-Bola Ray, Prof. Kwesi Yankah, Akuma Mama Zimbi, Afriyie Acquah, Ayitey Powers, Stephen Appiah, Kwesi Appiah, Okyeame Kwame, Prince David Osei,

The walk started from the Aviation Social Centre at 6am through the Airport streets to the Former President, John Agyekum Kufour’s house and followed the same route back to the Aviation Social Center.

The Former President Agyekum Kufour thanked all participants for taking part in the health walk to help raise funds for his foundation.

He said good health could be achieved by adopting the right behaviours and also by developing a positive approach and therefore urged all to work towards living healthy lifestyles.

Funds raised from the campaign will be used to run the foundation’s programmes – including the Kufuor Scholars Programme, Kufuor Young Entrepreneurs Network, Annual Lecture Series on Governance and Development, the Kufuor Elections Observers Group, and the Kufuor Prize for Best Community Leadership.

The year-long fundraising campaign on the theme ‘80 for 80’ was launched to coincide with the 80th birthday of former president John Agyekum Kufour, who shares the vision of peaceful, well-governed and economically sustainable societies across Africa.

The Foundation is an independent and nonprofit institution dedicated to the promotion and sustainability of Ghana and Africa’s development. It is inspired by the founder’s passion for practical and sustainable development and aims at advancing effective leadership, good governance and socioeconomic development.
