National Chairman hopeful of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Stephen Ayesu Ntim ahead of the party’s National Executive election slated for 7th July, has said he remains unperturbed by the numerous superficial endorsements going the way of his competitor, Acting National Chairman, Freddy Blay.

The Executives of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Western and Central Regions have unanimously declared their support for three candidates, Freddy Blay.

The declaration was made in the presence of several Ministers of state including Joe Ghartey, minister in Charge of Railways Development, Deputy Minister of Health, Aviation and Chieftaincy, as well as the two NPP chairmen for Western and Central regions Francis Ndede Siah and Robert Kutin. Also  regional executives from both regions and members of parliament, constituency executives, MMDCEs and other supporters numbering over two hundred made it to the all important event ahead of the polls.

Addressing the gathering, the Secretary for the Western Region NPP and a presidential staffer,  Charles Nanabayin Onuawonto Cromwel Bissue, stated that they decided to rally for support for Mr Blay based on their track record in the past.

However, Mr Ntim who’s contesting the National Chairman position for the unprecedented fourth consecutive time, addressing a press conference in Accra on Wednesday stated that he doesn’t believe in buying votes.

He was confident that at the end of the elections, delegates who have bought into his message will reward him with the Chairman position for his hard work, loyalty and commitment to the party over the years.

“Instead of me organizing superficially engineered endorsements across the country which I can easily do, it’s just a matter of putting some people together and giving them money to say they’re endorsing Ntim, instead of doing that, I’m waiting from the endorsement of delegates, people who matter in this election. The delegates are going to endorse me and the angels from the high up there are also going to endorse me because the battle is still the Lords’s. The delegates and angels will certainly endorse me in Koforidua, that’s what I’m counting on and not superficially engineered endorsement.”
