Editor-in-Chief of the Crusading Guide newspaper says the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) harsh attacks on George Boateng, the man who wants to contest President John Mahama at the party’s presidential primaries is totally needless.

According to him, the consistent onslaught by the party members including its national executives could best be described as killing a fly with a sledge hammer, as it is clearly known that the President’s challenger hasn’t got the capacity to unseat him.

George Boateng, who is the Youth Organizer of the Oyarifa Branch of the party, has come under several attacks after announcing his decision to contest President Mahama.

The attacks on him increased further after he picked his Presidential nominations forms at the party’s national headquarters last week.

Party heavy weights including the General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and First Vice Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo have said the man is suffering from a mental sickness.

However speaking on JOY FM’s News File programme Saturday, Ace Journalist Kweku Baako who stated that George Boateng was no different from Akua Donkor, leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) expressed surprise over the NDC’s posturing against former.

“For me George Boateng and Akua Donkor are the same, they are out there for comic relieve, the hypocrisy, the double standard of the NDC is clear, why will they praise Akua Donkor when she speaks and then turn round to condemn George Boateng, the NDC’s inconsistency is too much ”.
