The Central Regional Chairman of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Allotey Jabobs has launched a campaign to see all the current national executives seeking re-election being kicked out of office.

According to him, the national executives have outlived their usefulness and must make way for other competent hands to lead the party to victory in the 2020 general elections.

“All the National executives at the party’s headquarters are too old in office, they should go. They’re there just shifting chairs wanting to contest for other positions within the party. They’re seeking promotion from their current positions to another, if one is a deputy, he now wants to be a substantive officer of the party. They should stop that.” Allotey Jacobs said on Peace FM.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Executive Committee (NEC) elections have been scheduled for Saturday, October 20.

The election for the position of Youth Organiser and his two Deputies and that of the Women Organiser and her two Deputies would be held a week earlier on Saturday, October 13. Purchasing of nomination forms at GH¢500 would be from Thursday, August 23 to Saturday, August 25.

Filing of nomination papers would be from August 29th to September 5th; while vetting and balloting would be from September 10th to 13th.

Hearing of appeal cases in aftermath of the Vetting Committee’s report would be from September 12th to 17th.
