Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) , Koku Anyidoho says the flagbearer of the major opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP), Akufo Addo is a key contributor to ongoing leadership crisis in the NPP.

He’s blamed the NPP’s current troubles on the 2016 Presidential candidate, suggesting he’s done very little to show leadership.

Contributing to a discussion on the NPP troubles on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM Thursday, Anyidoho said the leader of the opposition party has largely betrayed the selfless work done by his forefathers therefore did not see why he should remain in the NPP.

He’s suggesting for him to break away from the NPP, since he’s lost the control over his own party members.

“He’s free to form his own party. Is obvious he(Nana Addo) cannot work with the current structures of the NPP.  So he, Gabby  and Ursula Owusu should go and form their own party and stop destroying the party of the Da Rocha and co. You’re making their bodies turn in the grave.

According to him, there is no order within the NPP now, because of Akufo-Addo’s inability to confront the problems that he says is endangering the progress of the party.

“The NPP is suffering from leadership crisis – That you have a leader who is not bold enough to confront the issues headlong.

“Nana Akufo Addo has no control over his party-he’s dividing the party seriously. He doesn’t want to work with the national chairman, he doesn’t want to work with the general secretary.

“He wants to work with his cabal, so this same person when he becomes President will ignore systems and structures and be working with his cabal. This is a leader who can’t unite his own party.”
