Management of Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Company Limited has cleared that all its fleet of buses from its 16 depots across the nation are in good shape denying reports of some of its buses being grounded due to lack of regular maintenance.

A release by the Company on Tuesday, November 06, 2018 said:” As a company that has been in existence since 2003, we have a robust Technical Department that foresee the maintenance and repairs of our fleet of buses across our 16 Depots in order to ensure their safety at all times.”

This follows reports in sections of the media claiming that about 300 Metro Mass Transit (MMT) buses at Abrepo Junction in Kumasi have been grounded due to lack of regular maintenance, while it revealed that most of the buses are not on the road due to lack regular maintenance.

But the Company in its Press Statement has asked the general public to disregard what it described as “false and malicious publication” meant to harm the reputation and image of the public transport entity.

The release added: “…continue to rely on Metro Mass Transit Limited for safe, affordable and reliable means of transport in the country.”
