The Board of the Metro Mass Transit Limited has asked the Managing Director of the company Bennet Aboagye to proceed on leave with immediate effect.

One Yiadom Kesse, known to be the personal assistant of the MD has also been affected by the same directive.

This comes on the heels of alleged financial malpractices and procurement breaches by management of the company.

One Lawal said to be the company’s Head of Security this week petitioned the Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu, accusing the MD of colluding with the Board Chairman, Ahmed Arthur over several financial malpractices as well as  breaching several procurement laws.

Lawal who demanded the immediate dismissal and prosecution of the Managing Director, had also alleged that, Mr. Aboagye and a leading member of the NPP Dr. Amoako Tuffuor attempted to bribe him with GHc40, 000 when he confronted them with his evidence.

But management has since discounted allegations that it breached several procurement laws in the acquisition of the 300 new buses.

It maintained that all processes were duly followed in accordance with laid down procedure in that contract.
