Family of the late Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) Kwadwo Opare Hammond has revealed that he died of heart related problems.

The former Adenta MP passed away on Friday after complaining of shortness of breath.

Brother of the deceased Rev. Patrick Opare Obuobisa explained the circumstances leading to Mr Opare Hammond’s death.

“I was here on Thursday when I received a call that he’s returned from his trip, however he was indisposed and needed to attend to the hospital. So afterwards he was discharged home, but in the middle of the night about 2am he experienced the same thing but this time the breath was not too good so we rushed him to the University Hospital where they stabilized his condition. However they asked a referral to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and to the cardio  for that matter. On reaching Cardio they realized that it had some heart related something and I must put on record that he’s never had heart related disease before.” He told Joy FM.

Mr Opare Hammond before his appointment to PMMC served as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Finance and Administration.
